Hi,

I've been trying to enter a javascript: URL like "javascript:unescape('%23')" into the address bar of IE7 but it didn't return any output. Even writing "javascript:1" didn't yield anything.

Can anyone please enlighten me on what I have to set up in particular to have IE7 output javascript: URLs into the current content tab, like other browsers do by default?

TIA,
Axel Dahmen

What zone?

FWIW  I can do that when the Internet zone is showing.

IE7 shows the Internet zone. Actually it navigates somewhere (I can hear the click), but the result is always the IE7 default about:blank page.

I don't know what I did but I got into your symptom and out of it again.
Whatever state it was in it survived a boot.

Try Run...   iexplore.exe  -new  -nohome  -extoff
then click Stop.

FWIW  that puts me into  My Computer  zone where surprisingly
I am still allowed to issue  javascript  in the Address bar.   YMMV.

Good luck

Robert
