ince the beginning of this year, when Microsoft did an automatic update, I
have been having problems on many websites that gives me message sometime
like "you have an unsupported browser need to upgrade to IE 5.0" I have
downloaded IE 7 and have it on my computer so don't understand why I keep

Hi,
Chances are that a third-party security/privacy program is blocking your
browser information from these websites.
Look through settings of your security suite, firewall or other security
programs for an option similar to:
Private Header Info - enabled
Enable Browser Privacy
Block http_referrer
Click on this link http://gemal.dk/browserspy/headers.php
On that page, what information is in the HTTP_USER_AGENT field?
Hope this helps,
Don

Hi,
In addition: some websites or some scripts test for the browser version. If
the script in questions expects version 6 (that is: if version 7 is
unbknown), you can have that behavior.
Kind regards
Hans

Windows version? What sites?
What anti-virus application or security suite is installed? What
anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall
(if any)?
