downloading speed

When using IE to download a file, I get speeds like 3-4Kb and when using
Orbit downloader to get the same file I get 18+Kb; where should I
troubleshoot?

The W3C standard is for 2 concurrent connections. This will be increased by
default in new IE browsers.
