Good afternoon all,

When opening up IEEE for the first time of the day, it tells me I'm
off-line, and would I like to try to reconnect..

The re-connected always happens.

My question is there some setting I'm missing that causes IEEE to ask this
each time,.

Many TIA

The only IEEE I'm familiar with is the Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers.

So much for "spell Chunkers" Leonard.

IEEE most certainly passed through the filter.

MY query meant to state "Whenever I open IE7"...

<red-faced>

Any help appreciated.

You'll need to provide details about how you connect to the web, to
start with, and your version of Windows is needed.

Hi Leonard,

I connect to the net via a wireless router hooked up to a ADSL line--which
is always on--the line , not my computer.  I retire it each night.

I'm running XP Pro fully patched with SP2, and will get around to SP3 when
D-Link gets around to writing the drivers..  Also running IE7.  Anything
more that I can supply, let me now.  BTW, (send me $2.00 and 2 Cheerios
boxtops, and I'll get you a membership to the IEEE. <VBG>.  In all
seriousness they are a very valuable and well-respected organization! I
suspect you may be a member.

When IEEE accepts me as a member you will know it's going down the tubes...

Your setup includes two components - a wireless router and ADSL - about
which I know virtually nothing, I'm afraid. Hopefully someone better
able will offer to help.
