Amirz - 16 Jun 2008 17:21 GMT Hello, i have small questions: How to remove activex warning bar when opening files in local hard drive by IE? cuz i have tried some ways here such config internet options-security-advance -"allow activex content in files on my computer" but still doesnt work. please if any registry hack available (no matter even intrusive)? anyways. i will follow you please. the last, how to show Windows Media Player internally inside browser IE window (such Adobe Reader and .pdf in IE) instead of launch it separately when opening media files online? to me it will be very cool. btw, my system is Xp MCE 2005 SP3 with IE7 and WMP 11. Thank You so much for Your Help, God bless You All, regards.
rob^_^ - 16 Jun 2008 20:56 GMT Hi Amiriz,
You need to add the Mark of the Web to the page.

Amirz - 16 Jun 2008 21:57 GMT Hello Rob, Thanks so much for your reply. yes, i have reviewed your link, seems good enough. no annoying activex anymore, yes it's the most important thing to me. thank's However, if we are continuosly using to add "the Mark of the Web" for each web file of hundred or thousand ones in our hard drives, it seems will take very long time and maybe rather impractical. i can accept your first suggestion, but as alternatives, do you have other easier ways, please? i mean to make it working permanently in windows. thanks so much for your help Rob! btw, do yo also know how to show Windows Media Player internally inside browser IE window (such Adobe Reader and .pdf in IE) instead of launch it separately when opening media files online/offline? please help....thanks mate! sorry for the bad english

Frank Saunders MS-MVP IE,OE/WM - 17 Jun 2008 12:54 GMT If you use File | Save As in Word you can save it as a Word96-2003 file, which will be *.doc and won't be a problem.

Amirz - 17 Jun 2008 14:30 GMT Thanks alot Frank and Rob, yes mate i think it may also be another good alternative (since MS Word has also been .HTM/.HTML/Web editor). However it seems Xp security factor in both service pack 2 and 3 still doesnt give us more freedom. Same thing due to Vista. So practically i think i will follow either or all your ways guys. Thanks alot for your replies guys. very useful. Regards-Amirz PS: if either of you also have another good idea, then please also tell us here. It would be very helpful and appreciated. Thank you so much for your attention, cya later

Please could you answer my second question: "do yo also know how to show Windows Media Player internally inside browser IE window (such Adobe Reader and .pdf in IE) instead of launch it separately when opening media files online/offline? please....thank you very much for your help. God Bless you all.

You can disable "Local Machine Lockdown", but you are lowering your security if you do.
To disable "Local Machine Lockdown":
Tools||Internet Options||Advanced||Security
Checkmark "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer" Restart the Browser

Amirz - 17 Jun 2008 17:48 GMT Hello Donald, Thank You so much for your reply. Yes, it gives lower security to us but as if we already have good AV and firewall also guarantee about the file itself, i am sure there will almost be no problem at all. Very useful, thanks alot.because Activex alert for even all legitimate offline files is very annoying to us.
About the link you give about "embedding media player" thanks, however it seems about embedding WMP in the web page/webserver/ Which i mean is only how to make WMP shows integrated in IE client window (as activex-BHO/Browser Helper Object if im not wrong) when playing multimedia online like Qucktime does.
It's very usual to see Adobe Reader/MS Word /Quicktime activex control visually integrated inside IE Window as part of the UI when opening .pdf/.doc/ .mov online by IE, but every i opening mp3/wmv online by IE, then suddenly IE activex control always launches separated/independent WMP instead of just inside IE. all I want to make it inside IE as well as other apps. Quicktime does it well in IE6 and IE7, but why WMP doesnt? (i am not talking about IE media bar that already removed in pre-IE6 Sp1). Could it be, or how to make it happen, please? It would be very cool. Again, thanks all for your help.

It would be very cool. I don't know of a way to do what you're asking with regard to the Windows Media Player. If the MP3 is embedded in the web page then it will play in the Browser using the Player pluging associated with the .mp3 file extension, but if you open a link that points directly to a .mp3 file then it will open up in the Player that has the file type associated with the .mp3 file expension independent of the Browser.
Windows Media Player questions are better asked in the Windows Media Player news group:
