I am having a similar problem to Pat in a previous thread.  If google is
used as a homepage,  IE7 stays open.  I go to MSN, and it closes before the
page finishes loading with no errors to be found.  There are some other
pages that it does this with.  I deleted all the files I could delete
through the options tab.  I did a disk cleanup.  I reset IE7 to default
settings and still it will close with no notice.  I am trying a few things
in hopes of getting it to work.  I am at a loss though at the moment.  If
anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Are we supposed to remember what Pat wrote in a previous thread"? You
also didn't say what version of Windows you have.

1- Start IE 7 with no add-ons.

Srart IE from a shortcut on your desktop with the following target
(don't forget the quote marks):
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"  -extoff

If the problem no longer occurs, one (or more) add-ons was causing the
problem.

2- Reset IE 7 to its original configuration.

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > under Reset Internet Explorer
Settings, click Reset.

If the problem no longer occurs, one (or more) incorrect configuration
settings was causing the problem. [Note: If you want to continue to use
any of your add-ons after a reset, you may have to reinstall them.]

3- Problems with IE 7 can also be caused by the presence of viruses or
other malicious software.

No but if you had looked five threads down you would have seen what Pat
wrote.  XP and it is fixed....

Not familiar with how a newsgroup works, I see. What you see on your
screen is not what I see. Usenet is a feed, not a format.
