INTERNET EXPLORER 7 WON'T WORK WITH TELNET COUNTYCAT MCFLS, WHAT CAN I DO?
PA Bear [MS MVP] - 17 Jun 2008 23:20 GMT
Maybe it's all due to that stuck CapsLock key?  [Post in all caps is
considered SHOUTING!]

Windows version?  Define "won't work."

Are you using Windows Vista?   It's not enabled/installed by default, you
will have to install it.

Telnet on Windows Vista(All Editions)
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/help/81b6d4b7-905e-4d70-8379-7934

See "How do I Install Telnet?"

Good luck,

You're welcome Suzanne, glad you were able to resolve the issue.

Good luck,

(I'd like to know why she was attempting to use telnet in the first
place...)

Don't know for sure Bear,  but I would assume Suzanne was trying to utilize
one the Resources listed on their web site called "Telnet Catalog" to search
for Book titles available within the Milwaukee County Federated Library
System.

Those running Windows XP with IE6 or Firefox 3.0 simply have to click on the
"Telnet Catalog" hot link at their site to have the Telnet Client open up.
So I'm assuming she was following the directions for those using Windows XP
with IE7 installed:
http://countycat.mcfls.org/screens/faq.html#5C

Those instructions have not been updated for IE7 on Vista, since the Telnet
Client is not installed by default on Vista.

Again, only speculation on my part:)

What?  Can't hear you.  You're too far away.  Scream (all caps) louder.
