> How can I tell if and which pop-up blocker installed itself on my computer?
Malware may "install itself" (if security permissions are lax), but other
than that, users typically install software, including pop-up blockers. If
you install software using default settings, you sometimes get strange
stuff. I missed the Yahoo! Toolbar offer in one pop-up, once, and got the
silly thing; even though I didn't want it. Fortunately, that is an easy one
to uninstall.

Hi N. Miller,
I worked with an HP tech and we did everything and then some to rid my
computer of pop-up blockers. Nothing worked. Then I started to uninstall
software from the most recent, etc. Turns out it was the HP Photosmart
printer software that I uninstalled that did the trick. The printer came with
an entire suite of software that took forever to install.
But now I can post new questions and replies again.
