When I open a site in IE7 it opens in a window less than full screen.  I
drag the edges to the size I want.  Close the window and reopen it and its
back to the small window...not the resized one.  Driving me nuts.  Help
would be appreciated.

It must be the last window closed.

Whichever shortcut you are using to launch the window, right click it and
select properties. Under the 'Run' drop-down, choose "Maximized".

If the window still opens small, try this next:

First, *close all other windows*. Now, grab the corners of the window and
drag it to full screen size. Close the window using File>Close, or File>Exit
depending what program you're in. Windows will remember the last screen size
used the next time you open the program.

Have tried both suggestions.  Neither one worked.  No run under properties.
After resizing and closing it still opens in the small window.  I am using
Vista..can that be the problem?  I thought perhaps IE7 might be corrupted
and tried to download a fresh copy, but the M/S website says I already have
it, and can't download it again.  More help, please.

Did you right click on an IE shortcut on the toolbar and not the icon on the
desktop? If there was no shortcut on the toolbar, drag the one from the
desktop to the toolbar and then right click on that icon.

Also, did you make sure the window you stretched,(with the cursor, not the
maximize button), was the last one closed?

And, if you need it, this tool should work on all versions of Windows.

On Vista I can't consistently get IE7 to remember it's size either.

IE 7 opens to the size of the last opened window, so after you drag your
window to the size you want, click a link in that window. That should
open a window in your desired size. Now close the browser.

Caveat: You may have to go through this exercise fairly often, since web
pages can be coded to open in a specified size.
