I have seen this 4 times in the last week at clients. Thay all have Xp Sp2
and IE7. Whatever favorite or web address link you click takes to back to
the home page. If you type an address you go to it only. If you try and
downloa somethingf including an email attachment it shows it downloading and
that it completed but it is not on teh deskktop for example. You see the
file briefly flash on teh desk top but then it is gone. You can search for
it and it is not found. These system all have the latest anti virus and
antispyware protection and scan clean and have no other odd signs in
functionality. In one case removing and reinstalling the AV fixed it, but in
the others it did not. We uninstalled teh AV and AntiSpyware and double
checked IE security settings were all default and stil no improvement. A
full system restore fixed one system. Was there some MS update or known
thing/issue causing this. To see this 4 time in a week at different clients
shows me there is something going on. Most of these clients are home users
using AVG Home and one had Norton Corp., They all run Spybot, Spywareblaster
and Defender.

What if you go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools |
Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
