Which "guys" are you talking about? Nobody here works for Microsoft or
represents Microsoft in any way. We are you fellow users, who volunteer
to help each other out. No difference to us what browser you use.

Hey, I understand deecee's frustration altho' not her actual problem. So, can
any of my fellow users here tell me why Internet Explorer 7 (which I've had a
long time), takes so pitifully long to download anything? I have cleaned out
my computer but it continues to be slow that I have been using Mossila
Firefox and having some faster results.

But this means that, when my BBC news or other daily downloads comes in from
Outlook Express or Incredimail, I have to cancel the email and open up
Mosilla
and get the BBC on Bookmarks in order to see the news and it is not in the
order of priorities that the daily email shows. I don't think it is my
computer as it is okay in all other ways.

Any views on this from fellow users??

Try turning off the automatic phishing filter - that made a huge difference
to speed of download on my PC. You just need to be more careful about
potential phishing sites if you turn this off though.

IE7 doesn't freeze or restart for me.  Wonder why it's happening to you?

Hi,

A new computer?

Another OEM build with untested addons walks out the door = another customer
lost.

Hi Deecee,

Most problems with IE7 (and Vista) are caused by incompatible Addons.

You can test this by running IE7 in no-Addons mode. Start>(All)
Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Internet Explorer (No Addons).

If IE works well when the Addons have been turned off then, then you can
probably fix the problems by downloading and installing the latest versions
of your Addons or contacting the distributor of your computer and asking for
their latest installation disk (they should provide you with a licensed copy
of Windows when they sell you the computer.)

More than likely this will be the case, particularly if you copied some old
programs from your previous computer to your new computer

Regards.
