The problem i am having is that internet explorer 7 is not accepting proxy
settings from group policy. The group policy is being applied because things
like hiding the connections tab in internet explorer work from the same
policy but not the proxy settings.

I have checked our virsus scan and its not blocking it. I added the ie7 adm
files no help, created a new policy and that didnt help either.

This only happened when we updated to ie7 it was working fine under 6.

Please help.

Never mind. I got it. ONe persons post from tech republic helped.

In Internet explroer 7 they stopped using some characters in the excluded
list so if you dont delete them from your settings it will invalidate the
whole proxy settings.

So example in ie6 http://www.whento* was allowed. in ie7 its not ; so if you
keep that setting when you upgrade in your gpo the proxy settings wont be
updated and will be cancelled out.

This should be sent into microsoft. this is a huge thing that should be
corrected.
