With a brand spankin new computer I decided to use "Windows XP Professional
x64 Edition" as my OS w/ my AMD64 system, excited to test out the diffrences
and still remaning true to XP (until Vista has a SP2), seems I got more than
I bargained for in the headache department.
Aside from the expected driver issue. Internet Explorer w/ it's two
additions  x32 and x64. Happy that the IE 64 loaded up nice and easy,
unfortunately (to this day) I'm not able to load a page from the IE32, as if
my network connection was disconected no page wil work on ANY x32 bit
browser.
Any suggestions on what to do, please fill me in. The system is fresh and
up to date w/ all 10 apps loaded on to this monster machine.

Out of curiosity, I found this rather dated solution via Google:

How to run the 32-bit Explorer shell on Windows x64
http://extended64.com/blogs/bhpaddock/archive/2005/05/22/539.aspx

Looks like there are side effects after enabling this.

Keep on searching for more current info.

Good luck.

Issue found and corrected!

It turns out the, nForce Network driver from nvidia does not work so well
that came w/ the system, it needs to be un-installed if installed, reboot,
and all is well, I am now able to run 32bit browsers (firefox safari, IE32).
Curious though, why wouldnt it work.
