When I left-click in order to copy I am getting a cross and subsequently ie7
crashes. I know this is as a result of an add-on as it does not occur when I
run ie7 with all add-ons disabled. I know that I could go through all my
add-ons and check them individually but am being lazy and asking if anyone
has specific suggestions
(additional note: Right-click and copy all works fine).
Thanks.

You don't have to test them individually. Use a divide and conquer (binary)
approach. E.g. guess that add-ons installed by Publisher Microsoft Corp.
are not the cause of your symptom and leave them enabled. Retest.
If an otherwise reproducible symptom does not recur you do not have to test
any of those add-ons individually. Then try re-enabling add-ons from other
publishers that you *need* and retest. If the problem symptom does not
recur you would have everything that you need after ony two tests.
Good luck

Thanks. I have now isolated and disabled the add-on (it was something from
HP if anyone is interested - the add-on was called HP Print Clips).

I'm having a similar problem, that started in IE6, and I upgraded to IE7
thinking it would resolve.
Any time I try to type in a form box (i.e., the "search" box on this site),
I cannot use the left click to get the cursor to enter text in the box. I
have to left click and then click "esc", to get the cursor to flash within
the box, allowing me to type.
Does anyone know what is causing this? I don't have this problem in AOL, or
Firefox. It must have something to do with IE.
Thanks!
