I am using IE 7 w/XP Pro. When I move my cursor up and down, the web page
unexpectedly will scroll up and down. I have looked at the mouse properties
in the control panel and I don't see anything unusual or no features are
turned on that would allow automatic scrolling of web pages. Please advise.
Do you have mouse software installed (e.g. IntelliPoint, SetPoint)?
Have you installed software that includes mouse gestures?

no, just the latest synaptics touchpad driver recommended by the manufacturer
(Gateway) for my laptop.

I would remove the mouse in Add/Remove, reboot and reinstall the software.
Happened to me twice using a laser mouse.

this worked at first, but it has started happening again. One other bit of
info, many times when it happens, a small graphic (up and down arrows) appear
near the cursor just before the scrolling action occurs
