IE7 window xp hang up

am experiencing a hang up in IE7 on window xp when i open a brower and
several tabs next to it .. it suddenly hangs up and i am left with nothing
but having to close the whole browser and starting all over again .. have
tried disabling most of the add ons to find out what could be the cause but
still the problem is going on ... any help pls
