A1. WYSIWYG. Now that you've imported the bookmarks, re-arrange as desired
and they should stay that way.
A2. Not in IE but in the Favorites folder (typically C:\Documents and
Settings\<username>\Favorites).
A3. Double-click on any folder to "unexpand" it.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, however you came to that
conclusion, but IE7 wasn't designed to resemble or function like FF. If you
prefer FF, use it instead.

My apologies if I offended you or your friends in Redmond. It was an
unnecessary and inaccurate jab. I've been building software for over 40
years and am not unaware of the complexities, pressures and frustractions of
software engineering. My comment was uncalled for.
Your answer "A3. Double-click on any folder to 'unexpand' it," did not work.
The first click selects that folder as the folder to file the favorite in.
Let me clarify that I'm talking about Ctl-D, then using the drop down list to
selct the folder in which to file the favorite. All the folders are displayed
expanded.
Thanks

Well, that's different than "browsing the favorites folder," isn't it?
WYSIWYG in that case.

I just ASSUMED you were one of Bill's guys who roams one or more groups and
responds rapidly with erudite commentary. I must have been thinking of
another "PA Bear [MS MVP]."

We're all volunteers here. None of us works for or represents MS (including
