MY McAfee keeps telling me my comp is not protected, then it tells me my comp
is up to date. I installed Firefox and that seems to be when the problems
started.

And this is an issue with Internet Explorer why?

What did you disable in McAfee's suite of security components?  Did you
disable their e-mail scanning even if only partially, like just for
inbound e-mails and left it enabled for outbound e-mails, or disabled
e-mail scanning altogether?  What happened when you pushed their Fix
button?

Doesn't McAfee have user forums to ask about their products?  Yep, they
do at http://community.mcafee.com/.
