For no apparent reason I have started getting an error message pop up when
running OE6:
"svchost.exe has generated an error and will be closed by Windows. An error
log has been generated". Does any one know what this means, and more
importantly how to cure it. I haven't found the error log yet either.
Once it has happened other apps fail to function properly (all sorts of
error messages) so Windows (I am using Windows 2000) has to be restarted. I
only get the message when I am connected to the internet, and the message
sometimes pops up after a few minutes, not necessarily immediately after
connection. It is obviously something to do with 'host' (?), but it happens
irrespective of ISP.
Any help would be appreciated, Phil

Have you checked your system to see if is infected with the blaster worm?
The last link is to a zipped copy of a script that will disinfect your
machine.
