When I start my (Dial-up) internet connection with IE.5 and then select
"Mail / Read Mail" I often cannot connect and the server times out.
However, If I start my connection clicking on Outlook Express, the mail
comes through normally.

Any suggestions?

Regards and thanks in advance

How do the settings here...

OE Tools>Accounts>[mail account(s)]>Properties>Connection

compare to the settings here?...

IE Tools>Internet Options>Connections[>LAN Settings]?

Under "OE Tools>Accounts>[mail account(s)]>Properties>Connection" I have:

"Always connect to this account using" box is un-ticked and in properties
says "Any available"

and under "IE Tools>Internet Options>Connections[>LAN Settings] I have:

One box only ticked, " Automatically detect settings"

Thanks again
