Whenever I insert a link in OE, the URL is in the color purple. How do I
change this default back to blue or whatever? I can't seem to find it either
in OE or IE. Thanks, Steve T.

That probably means you've visited that link, so it's changing colors to
show that you've been there.  Check your link colors in IE under Tools |
Internet Options | Colors.

The color of a URL depends on whether or not the URL has been visited on the PC looking at the URL in question.
If you copy/paste a URL you visited into a note, it will appear (to you) in the color that you have set for visited links (in IE, tools>general>colors). However, the person receiving your note will see the URL in a color based upon whether or not HE/SHE has visited the link, and what HIS/HER color settings are.

That's why I was wondering where purple came from. My colors in
Tools>Options>Colors are showing the default of Red/Blue yet whenever I
paste a URL it is purple. It should be either Red or Blue, right? Steve T

I've checked further, and MY OE is acting the same.....
Apparently, we're getting the windows DEFAULT colors for visited/unvisited URL's.
I hope this explains the color. What about an unvisited URL (www.phony.url.com)?
Does it show blue?
