IE 6.0  %%%% ?

Immediately after uploading the latest security update for my firewall, Zone
Alarm, IE started having "seizures".  When I open it, it goes to the home
page, and then starts inputting it's own addresses in the address bar, all
kinds of "%%%fekdls%%%%" extensions.  After a couple seconds, which I'm
presuming means it's reached the size limit of the address bar, it stops
revising the addresses, and I get the blank "Page not found" screen.

I don't have a connection problem, as I can still send/receive email and
also listen to the radio via Media Player.

Can anyone help with this IE problem?

First eliminate any scumware.
CAUTION!!!!!  Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't.  Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded.  There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs.  CWShredder is also available here:

Thanks.  I'll let you know Monday if it worked or not.

Frank,

Thank you.  I went down the list of several of those suggestions, and
running Spybot did the trick.  I'll be making that a regular part of the
routine.

Thanks!
