Back button problem

When I'm viewing a web page and go to different pages, when I hit the back
button it returns to the first page not the previous one. Can anyone help?

You probably have a corrupt cache; create a new one as per the instructions
at the URL below:
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers_8.htm#deltree

Also do not use the 'automatically' setting option (tools, internet options,
temporary internet file settings).
