Hi, I saw this message before, but no answer. I am having the same
problem.
With the new IE 6.0.2900 version which is installed with XP SP2, I
cannot download text files from a link. When I click on the link, the
system does not popup the File Download Dialog. However, in all
previous versions of IE, the Dialog appears. I have verified the
settings have "Automatic prompting for file downloads": Enabled and
"File Download":Enabled in the browser. If you have any suggestions, I
would truly appreciate it. Thank you.

Is MS Windows AntiSpyware or Defender installed?
