I have a Win 95 computer I'm working on. Internet Explorer (3, 5 or 5.5)
will not let me browse the internet. It gives me a website not found error.
It seems like it's not even trying. I can browse the internet with Netscape
just fine, so I know I'm connected. Any ideas?
First, clear your History and TIF folders.
Boot to DOS (Start...Shutdown...Restart in MS-DOS mode)
Go to C:\Windows
type -- smartdrv -- <enter> - gets rid of all that disk thrashing
type -- deltree history -- <enter and y to verify> - to clear History
type -- deltree tempor~1 -- <enter and y to verify> - to clear TIF
Reboot
