Hi to all,
Have a few message rules set up, they work quite well except for message rule No 1 which tells OE that 'if the from line does not contain (all my addresses in my address book) delete it'.  About 2% slip through this rule, why would that be?

Add "Stop processing more rules" as another action in the rule.  As the rule
is now, if the message also satisfies a rule farther down the list the move
to Deleted Items never takes place.

Thanks Frank,
As the rules are set up now, these unwanted messages landing in my inbox don't satisfy any of the rules.
Rule 1  From line does not contain (all of my address book) delete it
Rule 2  From line does contain (all of my address book) move to WANTED folder
Rule 3  Where the message has an attachment move to the BEWARE folder
That's the only rules I have, the unwanted mails are spam.

You could forget about Rule 1. If you do that everything in your Inbox is most likely to be spam. You then place the cursor on the first message, depress and hold down the Shift key and arrow down checking that each is spam until the last message. Release the Shift key and then Shift+Delete to remove your spam.

One less Rule to maintain!

Hope this helps.

Thanks Gerry,
Only reason I have rule 1 is so all is automatically deleted when OE is closed, just saves the shift click delete
action.  Also, so the other user of this computer doesn't get tempted to open anything in the inbox!  I do a quick check of the deleted folder before I close the programme and have 'empty deleted folder on exit' in options, maintenance.
