In free email accounts- I cannot open attachments.

I cannot open any attachments in my FREE email accounts like Yahoo etc.
Attachments like Word docs etc.
It used to open for so many years - till a few weeks ago.

But I can open them in my Outlook Express. Here I have a paid email
account.

These are very small attachments So yahoo etc should not have any size problems.

It says IE cannot download from ......

Why is that ?

I have a Win Me PC.

can any one pls. help...BTW I am not technical.

regards,

Anna

Can you save the attachments to your hard drive and then open them?  Have
you highlighted the message in the Message List, then pressed Ctrl+F3 to see
if there is, in fact, an attachment to the message?

No I cannot save the message.
I get the same error which is something like this:

Internet Explorer cannot download.....from....this location...Yahoo

Yes, there is an attachment Because the only way I can open them is to
forward them to my paid email address in my Outlook Express.

Sorry, but I don't use Yahoo's mail service.  You might want to browse on
their website for more info since it sounds like they might be blocking
attachments in some way I'm not familiar with.
