I use Firebird (v 0.9.2)as my browser and Outlook Express (v 5.5) as
my email client.  I have set all of the relevent file extensions so
that they default to Firebird, yet when I click on a link in an email
in OE it opens IE and tries to open the file.

How can I change this so that Firebird opens when I click on a link in
an email message??

many thanks

Ask this in a Firebird-specific newsgroup, please.  Only they will know the
correct settings for URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocol.

OLEXP: Outlook Express 5.5 Opens a Hyperlink in the Incorrect Browser
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=271512

It's limitation of OE5.5.  I believe that upgrading to IE6/OE6 (assuming that you are not
running Win95) may also allow you to use other browsers with links from OE.
