outlook inbox will not delet

I can not delete my inbox or sent items it comes up the message
could not be deleted? Can any body help

If you mean within Outlook Express, that is correct, you can't delete them.
If you mean deleting the DBX files, OE must be closed to do that. OE will
build new ones when it is opened again.

Do you mean that you cannot delete messages within those folders?

If so, you may have a corrupted mail folder. If you are lucky, it is the Deleted Items
folder, and not the folder you are trying to delete the messages from.

For a corrupted Deleted Items folder:
- Close Outlook Express.
- OE4: Locate the files Deleted Items.mbx and Deleted Items.idx in the mail directory and
delete them. You can use Start, Find, Files or Folders, "Deleted Items.??x" to find them.
- OE5+: Locate the file Deleted Items.dbx in the mail directory and delete it. You can
use Start, Find (or Search), Files or Folders, "Deleted Items.dbx" to find it. On Win2000
you need enable the display of Hidden or System files in the folder options and XP you
need to use the advanced options to find Hidden or System files.
- Open Outlook Express again. It will create a new empty Deleted Items.
