For the last two weeks, I've had a problem with sending mail. Anytime I send
anything, whether with or without attachment, the file gets sent, but stays
in the Outbox and returns a blank error message. If the message remains in
the Outbox, it continues to send and return a blank message until the email
is deleted from the Outbox. How can I correct this problem?

Close OE.  Find and delete Outbox.dbx in your identity's store.

Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages.  Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual
compact of all OE folders while "working offline".  More at
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm.

Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such
corruption.  Disable it.  It provides no additional protection.
