When I try to send a reply in this forum, I get a "Could
not perform this operation because the default mail client
is not properly installed". I already checked under tools,
options, programs...and E-Mail IS set to Outlook Express.
What can I do next?

Sounds like you need to update the registry.  Re-Register Outlook Express as
your default mail program:

Go to Start | Run and type the following:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg
(Check the path to msimn.exe to make sure that is correct)

Make certain to include the quotations marks and the space between the
ending quotation mark and the slash.

Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools\Internet Options\Programs and
set OE as the default mail (and news) program.

Jim,

Didn't have to update registry....all I had to do was
upgrade to IE6 & get rid of Ad-Aware & Spybot.  They were
messing up my registry!

Hey, whatever works.  Glad to hear it's solved to your satisfaction.  Thanks
for the feedback.

Ad-aware and Spybot only do what you tell them to do.  Their mere presence
does not mess up your registry.

The upgrade to IE6 bascially did what Jim was suggesting you do.  Make sure
you re-visit Windows Update after installing IE6 SP1 for additional updates
you'll need.
