Hi
I'm using OE6.
I use several (pop3) email addresses for various business purposes.
My primary email address account is set as the default account.
Most messages I receive are addressed directly to my primary address others
messages are forwarded from other accounts to my primary account.
When I reply to one of the forwarded messages, I expect my "from" address
to be the one the
email was orginally sent to (it is clearly visible in the quoted original
message). But of course my default address is the one in the "from" box. So
I always have to double check this and manually select the address I want
the message to be "from".
This is very tedious and I dont always remember to do it!!
Is there a way I can set it up so that it intelligently works out that I
want my "from"
address to be the one the message was originally sent to.
I hope this is clear.
Thanks for any info.

I don't think there's any way to do what you want in OE. It's not that
smart.

Your forwarded messages are received in OE addressed to the primary account,
hence the Reply will contain the primary account address.
Why bother with the forwarding? Just set up each account in OE. By default
OE will use the account the message was sent to in replies or forwards.

For replies, OE uses the account that the message was downloaded via. If you have
several OE accounts pointing to the same server POP3 account (same settings at Tools,
Accounts, Mail, Properties, Servers, Incoming Server and Account Name), than any one of
them might download all the messages. I suspect that this is your problem. If want one
particular OE account to always download all the messages, then in Tools, Accounts, Mail,
Properties, General, uncheck the option to include this account when receiving mail for
all expect the account that you want to do the download.

Hi Guys
Thanks to all of you for replying.
Aha I understand now!
Ive since stopped the fwd'ing and set up relevant mail accounts in OE with
rules to put them in specfic folders. Much easier this way!
Thanks a lot.
