Something has happened to my outlook express, I cant delete emails from the
inbox, I cant delete the deleted items. I can still receive emails but I can
not send them, I get an error message and they get stored in outbox. I dont
remember anything specific happening, I have checked for viruses and Norton
did not find any, I have re-started my computer, but still the same problem.
Any suggestions, how can I fix this?
Thanks for your help.

General OE Caveats:
- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.
- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.
- Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual
compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm.
- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.
=====================
Start by compacting all folders, Nicole. If you're still having problems,
post back to this thread.

First do points 2 and 3 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx
Then go to File | Identities and set up a new Identity and do point 2 again
in that Identity. Then set up your account and ensure it works properly.
If everything works fine after that, then you can go to File | Import |
Messages to get the messages from the older Identity. If some folders won't
import, then see point 4 in the link above.
