outlook 5.5 error while sending email

I have a computer that someone opened up a virus on before symantec found it
and quarantined it. It made a change to the host file. I fixed that and ran
the tool to look for any more variants. Any ways no registry changes are
recorded that symantec has posted for that virus. Now to the problem. When
you send an email it gives an error saying there are errors. But it doesnt
say what they are. The messages stay in your outbox and appear not to work.
But If I go to the computer I am sending faxes too, they all got delivered.
Any help would be appreciated . Thanks in advance
