Although my computer clock appears to be set correctly UK time 1247 28th May
2005, when I have sent an email the date on it is defaulting to 19th June
2002 11 hours later in the day.

Can somebody please explain to me what's going on?

Thank you

Is this when you look in the Sent Items folder?
From your Header everything looks ok, Richard.

Yes Kath, it is. As you say the headers are alright.

Thanks for replying

Then unless somebody comes up with something better, I can only suggest
you try your account in a new, named identity and if all seems well, use
File>import to get your mail into the new ID before deleting the old
one.

This is most strange - I've "corrected" the clock and all seems to be well.

I'll let you know what happens. The only thing I can think of is that one of
my teenagers altered the clock and altered it back again without realising
it would affect the datings and listings of the email. They say they can't
remember doing so and would have no reason to lie so far as I can see.

I'll keep you posted and thanks for your input - much appreciated.

I've inadvertantly altered the date without knowing after I wanted to
look at a different month (birthdays, holidays, etc.) and forgot to
change it back. That's how some people  post in the future/past. But
with you saying in your original post that your clock was correct, I
didn't think of that.
Thanks for posting back and letting us know all is OK now.
