This is done.

This is where I have problems. Sbcglobal says to leave the DNS search order
blank.
(all of my other computers, 95's and 98's have DNS disabled if that means
anything)

ummm...duh! let me try to install "DSL EnterNet 300" from the cd and then
check connectivity!

Hi,
I'm not familiar with this 'EnterNet 300' package, but it looks like it is some
sort of 'connection manager' etc.. provided by SBC.
Sounds like an unnecessarily complicated process to me - typical of a lot of
bigger IPSs, they can't help themselves, they seem to delight in taking what is
a simple straightforward process and turning it into a nightmare !!
