I have a client that insists I fix some CSS bugs in
Internet Explorer 5.5.
I can't test with it because I don't have it. I cleaned
off a machine and re-installed the OS (2000 pro). It came
by default with ie 5.0.
I went to download ie 5.5 from the microsoft support site
and it said it's no longer available for download!
I've got clients who need to have things tested for ie 5.5
because there are still morons out there using it. How can
I, as a developer, program for it if I can't install it?!
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!

Ben
Any spyware embedded in those browsers? And are these the real "gold release"
browsers? Seems strange that Microsoft permits that website to exist. I've
never heard tell of evolt.org so I'd be leery of downloading from them.

If you are interested in using IE5.5 SP2, download
http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/ie55sp2/x86/en
/ie5setup.exe
Copy and paste the following text to Notepad and save it as
"iebatch.txt" in the same folder as the file being downloaded.
Then find and double-click the "ie5setup.exe" file. A reboot
will be required.

DownloadLocation="http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/ie55sp2/x86/en"
[Custom]
SetupMode=1
[Reboot]
Reboot=0
[End]
