We're an Oracle Applications shop.  Part of the
functionality is the ability to view text reports online,
which spawns an IE window and displays the report as a
single continuous web page.

This works fine unless the report is so large that
displaying it depletes the PC of nearly all it's physical
memory.  We have some accounting reports that are 80MB+
in size.  If the user has a desktop with >+512MB of
memory, it opens fine.  Otherwise, the user gets a
lovely "Program Error: IEXPLORE.exe has..." (We've all
seen it).

Doesn't matter if it IE 5.5, 6 ... It is actually fun to
watch via Task Manager. Memory increases for the
IEXPLORER.exe process while physical memory decreases on
the PC.  Once the amount of free physical memory hits
around 5MB, the error pops up.

It's actually easy to duplicate if you want to experience
it for yourself.  Just create a file with a .txt
extension, make it big, put it on your web server and
access it via IE.

I tried increasing the size of the pagefile - no luck.
Searched the web, microsoft KB, google, Oracle
Metalink ... - no hits on this issue.  

Has anyone else seen this?
