I'm having the same problem not being able to open large posts.  I
understand the second part of your explanation but not the first.  How do
you get to the point of selecting "all the parts"?  When I open the post,
all I get is a blank text area and in the
"Attachment"  block it says:  2[(41.8KB).  How do I get to the point of
"selecting all parts"?  I now this is all very basic to most of you but I've
been away from this forum for several years and have never had to do this
before.  Thanks for the help.  Mac

Mac look for the key "Ctrl" on the left bottom side of your keyboard.  Be
sure to hold it down when you select the parts to combine and decode.
Holding this key down will highlight the parts you want.

Hi

Microsoft imposed a kb limit a while back, so anything over 90 kbs is
split into multipart stats.

To view them you have to .... HIGHLIGHT PART ONE, then by HOLDING THE
CTRL KEY down click each consecutive part to also highlight them,
however many parts there are.
Right click on one of the highlighted parts, and an options box will
appear, click combine and decode, all the parts of the stat should be
there for you, click ok, the stat will now be there for viewing. (As an
example Ralph has a 3 part stat posted, so you need to highlight all 3
parts - etc).
Hope this helps,
Anne.

Hi All,
I sure appreciate all the help but I still don't know how to get to the
stage of actually having two or more parts to select by holding the CTRL key
down.  I understand the concept of holding the control key down and
selecting multiple files.  My problem is:  I don't know how to get to the
point of where there are multiple files to select.  Here is what happens
when I select Hellun's "Easy Listening" post.  I see the post listed in the
forum.  I double click the post to view it.  The TEXT area is blank and in
the Attachment window it says:   2[(41.8KB)   How do I get that into two
separate files so I can select them using the CTRL key?

I guess I need a step by step tutorial from the very beginning of when I
first see the post I want to look at.  Thanks again.  Sorry to be so dense.

Why did I go to the trouble of giving you a step by step illustrated tutorial?

Gus,  Actually the tutorial was great.. Thank you very much.  It really did help me understand what I needed to do after I got it through my thick skull that there are actually two different posts that I was supposed to be working with.  I was trying to open just one of the posts and then trying to open the "attachment".  It finally got through to me that I wasn't supposed to open the post but that there was actually 2 or more separate posts, then I was able to use your tutorial to open the stationery.  Like I said before.. the old brain just wasn't working well.  Thanks to all of you for your help and patience.  I'm always amazed that there are still people around that are willing to take the time to help others.  Especially people like you Gus, that know how important visual aids can be and are willing to take the time to do the screen captures, resizing, etc..  Thanks again to all of you.   Mac
