I saved web page to a dir.
I modified the background gif file to make an e mail based upon that web
page.
Then made e mail message using stationary based upon the modified file.
I sent e mail to myself and to the person that I am doing this for.
The sent and received e mail looks fine on my computer. Hers was missing the
background gif.
I moved the dir on my computer, then tried to open the email and the
background gif was missing.
I recreated another e mail based on the same files that were moved and it
works fine on my computer, so long as I do not move the dir and modified gif
that I made.

Why is the received e mail looking for this original gif, it is attached to
e mail, right???

Please help,
Paul

PS: in case u have not already figured, this is my first time doing this.

Hi Paul...you have to specify the full path to the file...here is a link to
the letterman stationery site with a tutorial...this is a great site for
beginners

Are u saying to go into the html and change all these?
background="mailing1.gif
src="classes.gif" width=105
onmouseover="MM_swapImage('teachers','','img/teachers_f2.gif',1)"
etc to hold the full path??

I navigated to these files using Frontpage, Cell Properties, Browse when I
created it.

What about other lines in the html, like:
href="http://www.yogamovesme.com/ourteachers.html">

Yes Paul, you have to provide the full path name for all picture files.    Assuming that all picture files are kept int the default folder for stationery C:\Program Files Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery\ , I made the changes in red below ...Dave     >}}}}}">    :-)    :-)    :-)

This did not work. With the full path, the e mail is still looking on my
computer for the files, right??? So, if the files r not there, like on a
recipient's computer, then no image. And I see the reason the background
image is not showing is that I created this image. The other images that are
showing are being pulled from the website. I thought all images could be
contained inside the e mail image.

you have a folder called img in the stationery folder.

long as the user is online and would appear in the script something like
src="http://www.yogamovesme.com/mailing1.gif"> .    I will reply shortly to
show you a script that will load the page directly into outlook express
using the meta refresh technique.

Hi Paul,

If all your files are in the same directory, HTML file as well as image files,
the the images should embed in OE whether you use the full path or not.

If your backgroud image mailing1.gif is in the same Folder||Directory on
your hard drive as the HTML file, and your html file reads as follows:
<body background="mailing1.gif">
then the image should embed in Outlook Express.

1. So make sure your image and Html file are in the same folder||directory.
2. Make sure you are applying your stationery properly, to apply stationery in Outlook
   Express use Message||New Message Using||Select Stationery and Browse to the Html file.
3. Make sure your recipient has a checkmark in "Show Pictures" in the following:
   Control Pannel||Internet Options||Advanced||Multimedia

If none of this helps you, post the HTML file you are using to this thread so we can
take a look at what you are doing.
