How to prevent double sound?

I know this is a very basic question but I can't figure it out.  When
viewing stationery with asf/wma sound, I hear two sound files playing at
once, one slightly delayed (like an echo).  I only hear the echo when I open
the stationery in the full mode.  Here's what I do.  I double click the
stationery to open in full mode.  It displays in a half window and I select
the Maximize icon on the upper right of the window.  The stationery is now
displayed full screen and displays correctly but I hear two sound files.
Thanks for the help.   Mac

Hi Mac,

Turn off the Preview pane before you double click on the header.  If you don't
you actually have two instances of the post running at the same time, one in preview pane
and one in full screen.

Thanks Don, that did the trick. No more echo.  It's curious though that it
only happens with some posts.  Example:  (With Preview Pane ON)  If I
quickly double click on Uncle Gus's post (Vermilion..), it opens fine and
there is no echo in the music.  If I quickly double click Roberts (Emily) it
will always have an echo.  Is it because one is a WMA file and the other an
ASF or does it have more to do with one having a quicker connection then the
other (therefore actually playing two sound files but both playing at the
same time so no echo is heard)?  Anomalies like this arouse my curiosity,
even though I know almost nothing of html/VB scripting or linking streaming
sound files.    Mac

"Is it because one is a WMA file and the other an ASF"

Hi Mac,

The .wma and .asf files essentially the same, you can rename an .asf file to
a .wma file and vice versa.  I don't get the echo on Gus's post either with
the preview pane open, so I assume it has to do with the transmition speed.

Thanks Don,  I thought it might be a transmission speed thing.  Also for the
info on turning off the preview pane.  I've only played a little with
stationery using ASF/WMA files (only have one song on my page.. lol).  I
think some of the people I have sent that stationery to may have had the
same problem I have.  I can tell them how to fix it now.   Thanks again.
