Greetings,

You may recall a suggestion I floated a while back of a private newsgroup
for stationery, where there would not be a size limit (well, beyond the
standard 1.5 MB.)  That newsgroup is now live, and able to be used for your
stationery posting purposes.

Here's the basic information:

Server:  privatenews.microsoft.com
User:  privatenews\stationery
Password:  stationery

You are welcome to share this information as freely as you wish.  This logon
information will only get you access to the microsoft.private.stationery
newsgroup.

Also, I wanted to share that I am no longer the MVP Lead for IE/OE (and
Windows - Shell and Tablet PC,) but am now the Newsgroups Administrator.
What that means is I have more control over all the groups and policy and
won't really focus on any one particular set of newsgroups.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your having set this up for us. I was a fairly active member of this newsgroup until October last year when frankly, it became too much of a burden to have to go through the combine and decode process in order to view the posts. The download time for picking up the posts via the South African Internet Exchange (SAIX) also escalated making it (for us) an expensive hobby.

The new server with the large size limit makes it once again worth while for us here in South Africa - so my thanks from all of us.

Neville Smith.

Thanks John.  The original stationery NG started back in 1997 and was one of the first really successful "Microsoft communities".  By setting this up for us, you demonstrate the continued support MS has for those who use stationery, and that's much appreciated.
