This has really been a pain in the butt for the past 4 months for me.
Does ANYONE have an idea or can point me to a resource to
resolve this?

Anytime I click on a URL in an email within OE, I get a Microsoft
pop-up that says that an error occured.  Module:  Unknown.

I suspect it's some kind of spyware or virus that's causing it,
but my spyware and virus checker reveals nothing on my
system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a popup stopper installed Joe that is what could cause this to happen...... hold down the control key and go back and view the post again and you should get the website...... once the website appears, you can let go of the control key :)

Annie,

I do have a pop-up installed, but holding the Ctrl key down doesn't stop the
problem.  The pop-up is the XP error report, that asks if you want to send
the report to Microsoft.  If I click the Don't Send button, it kills the
error
window AND Internet Explorer.

Thank you.

Joe

When was the last time you ran Windows Update? I see that your version of OE
is an older version. I am running 6.00.2800.1123 and you are running
6.00.2800.1106

Checking now, and will update OE.  I'll post later to
let you know if this resolves the problems I've been
having.

Thank you for the tip.

You are half way there. Now you need to get the rest of the updates for
IE/OE. You are showing version 1106 (last 4 numbers) and the latest versioin
from Microsoft is 1409.  I hope you aren't on dialup, as these updates can
be a real time consumer....   :o(
