desktop problems

After first start up the desktop appears,but then I get another desktop
opens on top of that,I'm at a lose as what to do next
to stop this from happening,could some one please advise

Thank you Jim for the links you sent me,the program ran the scan and could
not find any parasites at all.I will
go through the programs again to see if I missed any thing and will let you
know if I have any success.
