This storm has been over us since Friday.  Yesterday evening things got dreadful and continued through the night.  I was up at 3 in the morning and was surprised that we still had power.  By the time we got up at 7, the power was gone.  All power is out in Delray Beach.

For those of you watching the national news, we are in Palm Beach County so I'm sure you are seeing our problems.  There has been some decrease in the wind in the last hour but it is still pouring.

We do not see any structural damage in our community but this is very new construction.  Very hurricane proof.  Tremendous damage to trees and foliage.

Our only contact with the world is our telephone.  I remembered to bring a telephone from the office that we could plug right into the line.  All of our other phones are battery.

So, I just wanted to let you know that we are safe and hunkered down until we get power.  This laptop battery will not last very long.

I'm disappointed that I cannot complete the WET.  Up until the loss of power, I saw most of them.  Thanks everyone for your participation.

I do want you to know that the WET torch has not been blown out in storm.  Lydia will be your next hostess.  You know she'll be good.

And a special note to Lydia.  I am so appreciative that you accepted the torch from me so readily and that we hade it all set up ahead of time.  Knowing that you were in the wings and that I didn't have to worry about who would be next, took a real burden off me during this whole thing.

This will be it from me until I get some power.  Thanks to all of you for your support

you seem to be having it really bad - I picked up a videocast yesterday and from what I saw would not be happy there at all.
My sincere hope that you suffer no damage and only minimal discomfort.
