Can anyone please help me?  For some reason swf files are refusing to load.
It has never been a problem in the past.  I certainly hate missing any of
Sia's posts!

TIA

Eileen

Try going to the install pages.
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/triggerpages_mmcom/flash.html
and
http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/frameset.fhtml

you need both.

Greg, I downloaded and installed both of the items below (which I am sure I
already had) and the swf files still will not load when opening a post.  Any
other suggestions?

Sia has his flash files on a web server and they come to you when you view the post. If the server is not working or is overloaded,
the flash post will not load and it will just sit there "Loading from web 0%". Sia's flash posts are not working right now, a quick
check to the URL to the file, http://64.38.112.102/multimedia/Flash2/Titanic%20sink.swf, gives this:

Network Error
Unable to request URL from host 64.38.112.102:80: Host unreachable

So there may be nothing wrong with your computer at all. :)

Thank you so much, Ohmster, for your insight into this matter.  This is
probably where my problem lies.  Thank you too, Greg, for your help.

Thanks, Sabine.  I went there and did that(installed the registry
toolkit)..........still cannot see any of Sia's posts.  Hopefully Ohmster is
on the right track and I shall be able to see them at some later date.
Thanks for everyone's help.

Check yourself. Here is the link for his Titanic flash.
http://64.38.112.102/multimedia/Flash2/Titanic%20sink.swf

Click it and see what happens. If the host is unreachable, you ain't going to be seeing that flash until it comes back. Now it could
be possible that the Titanic movie has been removed from the server, in that case you would get a 404 page not found error. But if
the host is not reachable, then it's game over.

You can forward one of Sia's posts and then look in the source pane for the URL to the flash movie. Copy and paste it into Internet
Explorer and see what happens. If the movie does not come, then the post won't work. Try it with any flash post, working or not
working, and see what happens.
