OE Not Responding

OE has started hanging up and then not responding when changing folders. It
is getting progressively worse, and is now really bad. Closing and
re-opening OE used to take care of it, now I have to make a new folder, move
messages thru the message rules from the folder that won't open, to the new
folder to view my mail when it locks up, because restarting OE doesn't
always work. Is there a patch or something to fix this?

Its not slow, It locks up.... And I'm using WindowsXP and Outlook Express
6.0
