Hi

My ISP is the Spanish company called TERRA.

I have recently installed AVG ANTI-VIRUS on my computer. It has a plug-in
which requires me to change my POP3 to 127.0.0.1 and my SMTP to the same. I
have to change POP3 port to 5100 and my SMTP port to 5101.

I can receive email OK and the virus checker checks my incoming mail.
However, I can not send mail to any other ISP. I get the following error
message:

"Delivery not allowed to non-local recipient, try authenticating"

I have gone to TOOLS, ACCOUNTS, MAIL, PROPERTIES, SERVERS, and I put a Tick
in the box "MY OUTGOING MAIL REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION" I then went to
SETTINGS and put my account name( name.terra.es) and password.

I can then send an email which passes through my AVG VIRUS CHECKER to any
TERRA email address.
When I try to send an email to my friend in England, I receive this message:

This is the AVG E-mail Scanner program.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returned
below could not be delivered to one or more destinations.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
stephen.brook1@btinternet.com: Delivery not allowed to non-local recipient,
try authenticating
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Your e-mail message is being returned to you in the next part of this
message.

I would be grateful for any help.

Thank You

Three things:

1. Get rid of Terra. Terra, of Timof?nica, sucks.

2. Disable the email checking in Outlook Express as it offers no additional
protection and, as you have seen, can f.ck up OE. Reconfigure OE the way it
was if disabling AVG doesn't change it back.

3. Don't use your real email on newsgroups unless you like to receive spam.

Turn off email scanning.  It provides no added protection.
