I've noticed that OE insists on scanning them for links.  It sometimes hangs
when doing this.  Usually what I do is combine and decode yenc32 bodies to
save as a group (it makes downloading much easier).

So is there any way to disable this links parsing, or get yenc32 support?

Turn of the Preview Pane so it won't do this. All you are seeing is the
encoded part of the file and is no value. Turning it off also turns off the
search.
