Photo attachments don't fit screen

Can someone tell me why OE doesn't size photo attachments to fit the screen
(like I am told other e-mail programs do).  You may end up with a huge
picture with a scroll bar on it, which is unsat.

Is there a way to set OE to show the attachments so they fit the screen (I
don't think so), without resizing the images before you send them using some
software program (which is a pain in the butt).

Thanks...Pete

OE doesn't resize pictures because it was never programmed to. I send a lot
of pictures out myself and have to resize them using my HP Photo Imaging
program.

If you do not have a program already, this is a good free download.

Download IrfanView at:

Thanks Bruce...I already have Irfan.  I just bought a good quality digital
camera (always used 35 mm my whole life) and was disappointed to see that
there was no way to resize globally within the camera (even at the lowest
megapixel setting the pics are too large).

I used to scan photos with my "visioneer" scanner and use "paperport" to
resize them and now I see I will have to do the same kind of thing with the
digital camera.  I will use Irfan I guess.  I downloaded the software that
came with the camera (Kodak 12 zoom with image stabilaztion - nice machine),
and that was just more crap.

Let me ask you this - in Irfan, is there a way to change the image sizes for
a batch of photos without doing them one at a time - I doubt it but thought
I would ask - forgive me if that's a dumb question.

Thanks again and get back to me if you can...Pete

I can't answer your question about resizing multiple photos at one time
because I have never used that particular program.

In my case, my HP program that is a part of the printer is supposed to do
just that, but it doesn't. And a call to HP H&S would cost almost as much as
the printer cost. <sigh>

I just have made it a habit to download pix to a folder, resize them, and
then move them to another folder.

I too, would like to see a solution, but you won't ever see it in OE.

Irfanview

set thumbnail size to 600*600 (great for emails)
